We are pleased to provide you with details for The Leading Edge Institute of Phi Theta Kappa Certified Leadership Development Educators scheduled for November 16 - 19, 2006, at The Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, Nevada, near Las Vegas.
The Leading Edge Institute mission shall be to provide Phi Theta Kappa Certified Leadership Educators, a community of scholars devoted to facilitating the development of citizen leaders for the common good, a forum to exchange innovative ideas and resources, highlight best practices and strategies for implementing institutional programs in leadership development, and network in a professional, scholarly environment to enhance leadership development programs in higher education.
Who Should Attend?

The Institute is designed to continue the professional development of previously certified leadership educators and provide networking opportunities and an exchange of ideas for enhancing the leadership development classroom.
Others interested in Phi Theta Kappa’s nationally recognized, humanities-based leadership development curriculum can attend the Institute and discover it’s unique approach and methodologies. Faculty Forums and other opportunities to interact with Phi Theta Kappa Certified Leadership Educators will provide a variety of implementation ideas and information about how Phi Theta Kappa’s Leadership Development Program can meet the needs of many areas within a college. These others include:

- Honors Programs Directors
- Student Organization Advisors
- Student Affairs Administrators
- Continuing and Community Education Administrators
Phi Theta Kappa’s Leadership Development Program is a foundation for a ground-breaking Public Safety Leadership and Ethics Program developed through a grant awarded by the California Community College Chancellor’s Office. Individuals interested in finding out more about this program and how to bring it to a new area or community will have opportunities to network with the Program developers and engage in Faculty Forum sessions on issues in Public Safety Leadership Development. These individuals may include:
- College Public Safety Program Directors and Faculty
- Leaders, Trainers, and Academy Directors in Law Enforcement, the Fire Service, Emergency Services and Medicine, and Corrections
- City Council Members and City Managers
